How one person changed America and helped 20,000 businesses

Who are we?

The Made in America Movement (MAM) is the unified voice of American companies. MAM represents 20,000 American sourced companies and has 520,000 active consumer members. We are the leading objective, independent, non-partisan, organization dedicated to promoting American businesses and the families that rely on them. Watch the video below for a quick overview.

Not About Politics

We have worked with the White House, spoken with multiple (Presidential) administrations, and recommended many of our member companies for events both in DC and around the country, but we are not political and do NOT take sides. “Our team is happy to work with any administration, federal or local, that is focused on helping level the playing field for American companies, said (former) MAM Chairman Kurt Uhlir.

We are a non-partisan organization lobbying for and celebrating American manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, small business owners, mom and pop stores, local boutiques, and service providers. Dedicated to encouraging consumers to buy American-made products, we provide our members with resources to expand their use of American-made products and serve as a place to share ideas to increase our members’ bottom lines. Let’s unite American voices and tell Washington to bring American jobs home. We are a conduit for change!

Our mission

The Made In America Movement was founded out of a passion to see more jobs come back to America. This Movement was created so that individuals can get involved and use their voices and buying power to create change. Together we will grow this movement across the nation. As our Founder Margarita Mendoza is often quoted for saying, “To make it as America, we have to make it in America.”.

The Made In America Movement website and our community is designed to help you become a more conscious consumer. We also strengthen our economy, as we build relationships with brands to help them source more products in the USA and bring manufacturing to the USA. Our blog is full of content to educate you as a consumer on issues like toxic products, exploited workers and steps our government is making to grow jobs in America.

Who is behind the movement?

Margarita Mendoza originally started MAM as a personal movement, and it quickly went viral thanks to her energy, leadership, and the countless hours she spent sharing the stories of companies building products in America with American Made ingredients and supplies.

The Movement saw substantial growth thanks to well-known business leaders such as Entrepreneur and Inventor Kurt Uhlir, his wife and marketing executive Valerie Uhlir, celebrities, musicians, and the hundreds and thousands that have worked with us in spreading the stories of American businesses. Strong leadership and visionary thinking have built the Made in America Movement into the global leader in the growth of American companies.
